Marking Its Second Anniversary, Gateway Signs A Hotel In Agartala Expanding North East Footprint

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) , India's largest hospitality company, today announced the signing of a Gateway branded hotel in Agartala, Tripura. The brownfield project expands Gateway’s presence in the North East.
Ms. Leah Tata, Vice President & Brand Leader, Gateway Hotels & Resorts, IHCL said, “Gateway brand expands in the Northeast with this signing, marking the second anniversary of the re-imagined brand. Agartala is witnessing increased demand for hospitality offerings led by the growth of economic activity in the region. This signing is in line with our strategy of expanding across key business centres and emerging destinations. We are delighted to partner with Samashti Hotels & Resorts Pvt Ltd for this project.”
She added, “Gateway has built strong momentum over the last two years across key leisure and commercial markets, serving as the “Gateway to the Destination”. With over 60 hotels in its portfolio, the brand remains well poised to reach its guidance of 100 hotels by 2030.”
The 104-key Gateway Agartala houses an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant and bar. Guests can unwind at the spa, fitness centre or swimming pool. Designed to cater to both business and social occasions, the hotel features a spacious banqueting venues and meeting rooms.

Agartala, the capital of Tripura, serves as the state's administrative, political and commercial hub. Known for its rich cultural heritage, the city is home to iconic landmarks including the Ujjayanta Palace and Neermahal.
With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have three hotels in Tripura including two under development.
