Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, continues to advance its sustainability and social impact under its ESG+ framework of Paathya. Marking its fourth year, IHCL reinforced its commitment to sustainable growth with Bharat EkSaath Walkathon, an inclusive 3 km walk bringing together associates, their families, local partners, vendors and community across 14 countries in over 200 locations. The funds raised through the walkathon, support the Taj Public Service Welfare Trust (TPSWT), reinforcing IHCL’s approach to social impact.
Mr. Gaurav Pokhariyal, Executive Vice President – Human Resources, IHCL said, “Paathya reflects our belief that shared value is created when sustainability is deeply embedded into the organisation’s strategy and operations. Over the years, Paathya has evolved from a commitment into a holistic framework that guides our choices across environmental performance, social impact, governance and heritage stewardship. We have made big strides advancing meaningfully towards our 2030 goals; with over 84 bottling plants in hotels, 53% water recycled, 41% energy sourced from renewables and partnerships enabling 83 Skill Centres that have trained over 42,000 underprivileged youth.”
Anchored in six pillars covering environmental stewardship, social responsibility, governance, heritage conservation, value chain transformation and sustainable growth, Paathya continues to guide the organisation’s progress across key impact areas.
Paathya has received recognition including being featured as a case study by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD Business School), Lausanne, Switzerland, highlighting IHCL’s approach to embedding sustainability within its ecosystem.
