Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) — India’s largest hospitality company has entered into a strategic marketing and distribution partnership with Clarks Group of Hotels. Under the alliance, four Clarks hotels in Agra, Jaipur, Khajuraho and Lucknow will be marketed under SeleQtions, a platform of curated hotels known for their unique identity and legacy offering travelers distinct experiences. This collaboration will also entail expansion of the Clarks brand.
Mr. Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, IHCL said, “Furthering our strategic partnership with the illustrious Clarks family, this agreement will enhance our offering in the well-established tourist circuits of India’s historic cities. These hotels, each a landmark, embody the cultural richness of their destination. This arrangement with Clarks Group of Hotelsbrings together our shared purpose of showcasing the best of Indian hospitality for over a century.”
The partnership merges IHCL’s global marketing and distribution network with Clark’s heritage and brand strength. Hotel Clarks Shiraz, Agra, a 236-key hotel blending Mughal-inspired architecture with modern luxury has been synonymous with hospitality for over five decades. Just minutes from the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, it offers sweeping views of these iconic monuments. Clarks Amer, Jaipur, a 216-key hotel set amidst lush greenery captures the vibrant spirit of Rajasthan. Clarks Khajuraho, the 104 keys near UNESCO-listed temples, offers a serene stay inspired by the elegance of Khajuraho’s iconic sculptures. Surrounded by city’s landmark of Bara Imambara,the97-key Clarks Avadh, Lucknow, along the scenic Gomti River echoes the refined elegance of Awadhi culture.
Mr. Apurv Kumar and Mr. Rupak Gupta, Joint Managing Directors, Clarks Group of Hotels, said, “This is not just a partnership; it’s a commitment to creating a robust platform for the future of Indian tourism. This tie-up marks the coming together of two rich legacies. The Taj began its journey in 1903 with the iconic Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai, setting global standards in Indian hospitality. Clarks, a heritage brand as young as independent India itself—established 79 years ago—has been at the forefront of developing tourism infrastructure across the country.
