TAJ PUBLIC SERVICE WELFARE TRUST REAFFIRMS ITS COMMITMENT TO SERVE
MUMBAI, NOVEMBER 24, 2023: The Taj Public Service Welfare Trust (TPSWT), set up in December 2008, in the aftermath of the Mumbai terror attacks, marks 15 years of its commitment to providing humanitarian support in the event of disasters.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director & CEO, IHCL said, “It has been 15 years since the devastating attacks on the city of Mumbai. Our thoughts remain with all those who lost their lives and were affected by the tragedy – our guests, our staff, their families and many other fellow citizens of Mumbai. IHCL through the Taj Public Service Welfare Trust remains committed to living by our values of serving the communities we live in.”
He added, “TPSWT continues to support those impacted by the terror events of 2008 and 2011 in Mumbai including relief and rehabilitation initiatives.”
The Taj Public Service Welfare Trust’s purpose is to reach out to people affected by disasters, both man-made and natural, with a special mandate to promote the welfare of injured and disabled members of the armed forces. Since its inception in 2008, the Trust has worked on a range of relief and rehabilitation initiatives across the country. During COVID-19, Trust played a pivotal role in providing nutritious meals to migrant workers and COVID warriors as well as medical equipment and supplies.
TPSWT through its multi-pronged outreach has impacted 4.5 million beneficiaries across 59 districts in 22 states in India.
